Dr. Sean Downing MD

Dr Downing relocated from Somerville, Massachusetts to Sarasota in 2005. He is the son of Irish immigrants from County Kerry, Ireland. He enjoys visiting Ireland on an almost annually to catch up with the family. He was educated at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He earned a B.S. in Biochemistry and a B.A. in History. Shortly after graduating he travelled to Saas Fee, Switzerland to become a ski instructor for one winter.

Upon returning to Boston he worked at Massachusetts General Hospital at the Molecular Biology Unit of the Cardiology Department for several years. Subsequently he earned a M.S. in Physiology at Georgetown University and the year after was accepted at Georgetown University School of Medicine. Dr Downing completed a combined Internal Medicine ( Adult ) residency program and a Pediatric residency program at Brown University in Providence, RI. During his last year he shared a chief residency.

After finishing residency he completed his 3 year commitment as a National Health Service Scholar in Southern New Hampshire working in a medically underserved area. After finishing his commitment he was hired by First Physicians Group in Sarasota. He worked for 11 years for this group taking care of families in Sarasota. For 3 years after that he worked in a concierge medical practice, Sarasota Personal Medicine. In the Fall of 2019, he fulfilled a lifelong dream of opening his own medical practice where he can treat both adults and children. During his few off hours, he loves living in the paradise called Sarasota. He enjoys playing golf, tennis, volunteering, entertaining visiting family and friends from Ireland and Boston.

Coral Angelica Galambos

Clinical Supervisor, MBA, BS, RMA

Coral Angelica Galambos was born in Mexico City, Mexico, and started her Bachelors In Science of Nutrition at the Universidad Autonoma Metropolitana. She came to the United States in 1991 and continued to pursue her education and involvement in the medical community. As a Registered Medical Assistant in the Sarasota Memorial Healthcare System, she worked towards attaining her Bachelor’s of Science in Health/ Alternative Medicine at Everglades University. Coral had 3 children at the time, and split her time between school, work and family. She graduated with her BS in 2006 going on to get dual MHA and MBA degrees 2 years later at the University of Phoenix.

Coral started her medical career in the United States with First Physicians Group at SMHCS in 2003 as a clinical care coordinator. She remained in this position until 2014, developing patient and professional relationships throughout this time while performing clinical and supervisory tasks. In 2015 Coral became the Clinical Supervisor of FPG and continued to develop her leadership capabilities as a supervisor, in addition to organizing and setting a positive atmosphere for her coworkers. In 2019, she joined Dr. Sean Downing’s team as their Clinical Supervisor. Coral is a 7th generation Circus performer. She has performed aerial as well as acrobatic acts. Her family is still involved and performs around the world. She has a special place in her heart for dogs and loves to rescue them especially those who have more needs due to health or physical limitations. She enjoys family reunions and a good Netflix binge.

Renee Ballard

Office Manager

Renee is originally from West Bridgewater, Massachusetts. She relocated to Florida in 1980 after graduating from Syracuse University. She worked for the first few years in retail and restaurant management before finally finding her way into the medical field. Renee worked for several years in Ophthalmology first in a clinical capacity as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant. She then became a clinical supervisor for a long established Sarasota ophthalmology practice, eventually becoming the practice manager. Renee has over 20 years of medical office administration experience.

Renee now resides in Nokomis, Florida with her husband where they raised their son. She enjoys spending time with her two grandchildren. She and her husband are camping and boating enthusiasts and often travel to the Florida Key
